Porta del Mare Luxury Apartment

Never again. I’m posting this here because Booking no longer lets me leave a review. I usually only write one when I have something good to say, but this was a terrible experience, documented in messages and screenshots, including conversations with Booking.com support. We booked one night for four adults, two couples. We chose the property specifically because it had two bedrooms, two private bathrooms, and parking. In the days before the trip, I tried several times to contact the property through Booking.com and WhatsApp, but got only a very late, generic reply. Then, less than eight hours before check-in, at about 9:05 AM, someone contacted me urgently on WhatsApp, outside the platform. On the phone, they said the property was no longer available due to unspecified problems they couldn’t resolve. I politely asked why. I was told to stay calm and that an alternative offer would come. I also called Booking.com support to report what was happening, and they said they couldn’t reach the property. The manager eventually sent an alternative, saying the price would stay the same as the original booking, which was only right. But it didn’t meet our needs at all. I said so and heard nothing more. Booking.com later canceled the reservation, so I at least got back the €143 I’d paid. I had to book somewhere else and lost several dozen euros. I stayed polite throughout, but the situation was absurd.

The ocean view is wonderful, and the location is great. The place is really nice and in excellent condition, with a good place to train nearby. It’s close to everything: the train station, bus station, and a supermarket right across the way, plus a very nice shopping center. The beach isn’t private and is about a 15-minute walk away.

Really lovely apartment, clean and well cared for, in a great spot. It worked perfectly for a family with kids. Highly recommended!

There’s a washing machine and dishwasher, plus a closet, and the apartment has two bathrooms. It’s on the fourth floor, with a lovely terrace set up with chairs and a comfortable dining table. Inside, there’s a nice little living room and two bedrooms with French windows. One downside, they don’t replace the towels.
