On our second day, we called booking support. They told us to request a refund through Booking and to cooperate with the host, which we did. So the refund request was handled by Booking, not by us. And no, the cleaning service wasn't called three times in a row for no reason. If the problem had been fixed, we wouldn't have kept calling. The bathroom was still not fit for normal use after someone came to clean, since the attempt was very superficial. We had already told the host about its condition, and they said their usual cleaning staff no longer worked with them. When we arrived in May 2025, there were fecal marks in the toilet, rust and limescale on the shower head and taps, and dust across the room, including the furniture and nightstands. The walls also had dirty marks and shoe prints. We had to use alcohol and bleach ourselves before we could use the bathroom. After we left an honest review, the host called us “crazy” and “vindictive.” They dismissed what had happened despite the photos and videos we provided, and said we could have cancelled. But the stated policy only allowed a penalty-free cancellation more than seven days before check-in, so a refund wasn't available that way. Being spoken to like that for reporting unhygienic conditions was offensive and disrespectful. I strongly advise avoiding this property. I'm attaching photos of what we found.
