Salerno Experience HOSTEL

I left as soon as morning came. The bathrooms and showers were dirty, there was no hand soap, and the staff were kind, but it wasn't worth 23 euros a night. I've had more privacy at better hostels for less money. For what you get, it should cost half that, regardless of the market. Other guests kept me awake by leaving the lights on and unpacking for an hour from 11 p.m. The hostel needs a light policy and clearer expectations so guests are considerate. The bunk beds also need replacing. When the person below moves, you feel it above.

The location is good, but the rest was a disaster. The building is old, the beds are noisy, and there's hardly any space between the upper and lower bunks. All three showers share one room, the water pressure is weak, and its temperature keeps changing unpredictably. There are no lockable closets, and anyone can enter any room without a card or key, so belongings don't feel secure. You can't pay by card for drinks or snacks either. It's a depressing place, and I'd say stay away if you want even a basic quality of life.

The location was good, and the staff were helpful, but one night was enough for us. The beds were tiny, noisy, and seemed ancient. The upper bunk had no guard, ladder, lights, or chargers by the beds, so it felt easy to fall. Worst of all, my girlfriend woke up with more than 15 bites after that single night. Completely disgusting. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The common spaces are lovely, and the library is stunning. I was there for just one night and met some wonderful people. It's a good place if you enjoy socialising, though you can also keep to yourself.
