Rossella Lake View in Sal

This may be the worst hotel in Lake Garda. The rooms have no soundproofing, so corridor noise and toilet flushing come right through. The curtains were broken and the interior looked worn, as if it hadn’t been renovated in ages. Staff came into the room without permission. I wouldn’t stay here if you want good quality for your money.

The food was superb, and the staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt at home. Waking up to the lake view each morning for two weeks was bliss. We came away happy and refreshed after a wonderful holiday.

The location is great, but breakfast was a real letdown. The scrambled eggs and sausage were inedible, and the breakfast staff weren’t very kind. The rooms were okay, though dated and much too baroque for my taste. For a four-star hotel, I expected a bit more.

The restaurant was excellent, and the staff there were lovely and helpful, making our evenings a pleasure. The pool view is beautiful too. The location is four-star, but the hotel itself feels like three stars at most. Inside, the rooms and reception let it down. The decor is very dated, our toiletries were never replenished, the TV didn’t work, and one day we found a disgusting toenail clipping in the room. There are also extra charges that weren’t clear to us: 5 euros to change a pool towel and 20 euros to use the spa. It needs serious investment to offer a four-star experience.
