Hotel La Salsesina

That weekend at this hotel was a nightmare, and I won’t be back even if it were free. I stayed March 11-13, 2022, in room 11 on the third floor. The place felt neglected, the room and amenities were poor, and the bedspread had streaks that made me question the hygiene. The wallpaper was coming away from the walls, and when I unplugged my phone charger, one of the sockets came out in my hand. The shower was just as bad: I waited seven minutes for hot water, the flow was very weak, and it stopped for at least ten seconds while I was soaping up. I don’t expect a two-star hotel to offer the service of the Principe di Savoia, but I do expect the basics.

We paid in advance for two nights, but after the first we left because the place was dirty and run down. When we complained, management was unresponsive. They returned only twenty euros for the unused night, though I would have preferred to refuse it, since the agreed price was sixty. It was a disgrace for Salsomaggiore, and I never want this to happen again. A terrible experience, below the standard expected for its star rating.

Parking is available, and the rates are low for the city, but still far too high for the comfort you get. It’s an older hotel that needs a substantial renovation, and there’s no elevator.

Good evening. The location is beautiful, but management wasn’t very helpful, and they asked us to pay extra for the night’s stay. We left after just one night because the place was dirty and the management, Mariella and Michele, were unhelpful. It was a terrible experience, a nightmare even for one night, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. A disgrace.
