Hotel Roma

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. I booked online through a well-known agent and paid for a balcony room, but when I arrived they put me in one of their cheap basic rooms on the fourth floor. It was old and looked nothing like the website photos. They said the air conditioning in my booked room wasn’t working, so they’d moved me. I’ve never been downgraded because of a room problem before. Only after I pointed out that these rooms cost much less did they offer a discount. It felt like they hoped I wouldn’t notice I’d been put in a cheaper room. The room itself was poor. The air conditioning didn’t keep it cool, and I had a terrible night’s sleep. All they said was that it had been a hot day. It was 36 degrees outside, which isn’t exactly hot for Italy, but at 10 pm the room was still no cooler, and it was actually cooler outdoors. The beds were old, and I could feel the springs through the sheets. The shower was bad and needs a new head. Cleanliness was good, but the staff’s general attitude was terrible. There’s a great pizza restaurant nearby, just down the road and to the left.
