Hotel Pension Sonnegg

With the small hotel’s pool and whirlpool, we often had them to ourselves, which made it especially relaxing. The rooftop terrace was another lovely spot, romantic in the evening. There’s also a neat spa with a sauna and steam room for unwinding after a busy day. Everything was spotless and lovingly run, and the food was incredibly tasty, freshly made each day with care. The friendly atmosphere makes it easy to chat and even form friendships. A beautiful place near Merano at the entrance to the Passeier Valley. We felt good, ate well, and would come back.

We spent ten days at Hotel Sonnegg from April to May 2025. The owner-run hotel was lovely, the staff were very friendly, and the evening menu was both delicious and varied. The rooftop terrace was fantastic too. A heartfelt thanks to the Pircher family for helping me get my flat tire fixed on departure day. I’d have been lost without them, and that help wasn’t something I took for granted. One irritation came from outside the hotel: on weekends, a car enthusiast seemed to enjoy driving back and forth through the valley with the exhaust flaps open, making a racket.

Such a fantastic vacation, with a wonderful wellness experience and delicious food. Thank you for always being there for your guests. The owner deserves a hat tip for doing such an outstanding job. We’ll be back! 🙏

We’ve sadly reached the end of our holiday, but we’re already looking forward to next year. This was our first stay at this house, and it definitely won’t be the last. We were welcomed so warmly, and that feeling lasted throughout the visit. Every wish was taken care of, breakfast was delicious each morning, and dinner each evening was wonderful and served with a smile. The number of repeat guests here really says a lot.
