B&B Madau

The owners are really nice, and the pizza and pasta are delicious :)

The Sardinian furniture and quilts give the room a warm, distinctive feel, and it was spotless and welcoming too. Staying here felt like a dream. I loved it, and would highly recommend it to anyone after an authentic, comfortable place.

Breakfast was the one weak point, with not much choice. The rooms were lovely and well insulated, even though mine was above the restaurant garden, and I slept really well. We ate at the restaurant and everything was excellent. The owner and his father were kind and helpful, and let us keep our motorcycles safely inside. It was quiet there too. I’d definitely stay again.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very clean and tidy. The furnishings are lovely and cover the basics. Breakfast is served at the bar downstairs, in the same building, with plenty of variety, though not huge portions. Parking nearby can be tricky, unless you get lucky. Given the points below, I’d bring the price down a little, but I still recommend it. It’s right on the town’s main street. To get there, you walk through the bar’s outdoor area and look for the sign. I found it confusing that the B&B has different names despite sharing the building and entrance with the bar. The overflowing ashtrays left on the ground by some entrances were an unpleasant sight. The pillows in the closet were much too thin. I’d replace them, or at least put some better ones there, so guests don’t have to prop themselves up with rolled towels or other makeshift solutions. A small fridge would also be welcome, especially on summer nights.
