Residence Zodiaco

The neighborhood was noisy, and the beds weren't comfortable. At least it was very clean and inexpensive. There's no air conditioning.

The sea is close by, but that was about the only good thing for us. I wouldn't repeat this experience, and I can't see how this can be called a serviced apartment. We've stayed in many, and the place would need clean rooms, different staff, and renovated apartments to deserve that description. We booked late through an agency, and the price was much too high for this kind of property. After an eight-hour drive, we arrived to find a welcome sign and a knife holding the front door open, but no welcome and no reception. We went down to the basement, where a shirtless man came over. Once we explained we had booked through the agency, he immediately said there was no reservation for us because every room was occupied. They told us to wait for the "manager" and for the condominium/apartment management, which is hard to call a residence. We sat outside for two hours while the agency and the owner exchanged calls. When the manager finally arrived, she said, "Here are the keys in the apartment." I was shocked. When I asked what had gone wrong, she said, "There was no problem." She then told us there was a €20 laundry charge for sheets, towels, and bedspreads, which neither the residence nor the agency had mentioned in the confirmation email. The apartment looked unclean. The couch, fridge, and mattress we were meant to sleep on were dirty and stained, as the photos show. There wasn't really a shower, and the room had no amenities such as a hairdryer, though one was provided later. The cutlery smelled, and the kitchen utensils were old and poorly cleaned.

The welcome was lovely, and the management was good. Apartments are comfortable, bright, and roomy, with a nice sea-view balcony where you can have dinner. It's a great spot, 50 meters from the beach and close to the city center. Bikes are available too, which came in very handy for getting around town.
