We had some beautiful Tuscan views from every window during our six night stay, and the apartment was spacious, clean, cute, and comfortable. Some parts were worn and weathered, but that added to the charm. The air conditioning was adequate and we had what we needed. The gardens are gorgeous, and the pool is magnificent, especially in the summer heat. Fonte De' Medici is one of the most picturesque places I’ve visited, and our first impressions were exciting. The restaurant experience was the main letdown. Staff at reception and housekeeping were friendly, but most restaurant staff came across as unwelcoming and apathetic. It was hard to get anyone to take our pool drink orders, even when we politely tried, and dinner felt uncomfortable because the staff seemed disinterested. There were a few food issues I won’t get into. The antipasto platter was amazing, but the rest of the food was pretty mediocre. We got the feeling they were tired of tourists and couldn’t be bothered, which made us feel unwelcome. After day two, we didn’t eat there again apart from breakfast. Breakfast was a bit odd. There was plenty of food, but some things seemed to be missing, like butter and sometimes cereal. One morning there wasn’t even bread next to the toaster, which made us laugh. I’m usually optimistic and don’t often leave negative reviews, but I want to be honest about the service. This place has a lot of potential and may have been a special experience in the past, but that feeling was mostly lost for us. When we stay somewhere for more than a few days, we usually get to know the staff and feel some connection and care. We’d hoped for that here, but it was completely absent.

We came for a wedding and had a truly wonderful stay. The warm, attentive welcome started as soon as we arrived. Our room had a charming farm-style feel and lovely views of the countryside, with rustic details throughout the property. The food and wine were delicious, fresh, local, and nicely presented. A peaceful, memorable place in a unique setting.

The restaurant is very good, and the chef deserves special mention. He’s professional, friendly, and great. The property is beautiful and well kept, with a lovely pool, and the rooms and apartments are nice. It’s set in the Tuscan countryside among the Chianti wineries. Internet wasn’t great, though the staff kept trying to find a solution.

Dinner under the Tuscan sun was brilliant, and I was sad to leave in the morning. The property sits within the Tignanello and Solaia estate and has amazing views. We had a very spacious suite with a comfortable bed. I’d love to come back!
