Hotel Villa Rizzo Resort & Spa

A place worth going to. The villa sits among green hazelnut trees with mountain views, and it’s just what you need to take a deep breath and find some peace. Our room was clean and ready for us, dinner was good, and breakfast was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful 👍

After a third night in a row of loud conversation from private parties, I lowered my rating from three stars to two. This really isn’t okay. If you call yourself a 4* resort, don’t host events that make it impossible for paying guests to sleep. We had a self-catering room. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped, though it would have been nice to find some herbs, salt, coffee, and similar basics. The rooms are large and clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning was noisy, but that ended up being an advantage, as it helped with the noise. The grounds are nice, with a big orchard and a good-sized pool. Still, there’s litter around that makes the place look run down. Cleaning it up shouldn’t be so difficult, though this seems common in southern Italy. The pool also doesn’t open until 10 am, which rules out an early swim. The main problem was the private events in the breakfast area and around the pool. Last night a DJ played VERY loud music until 12:30 am. The night before, people were shouting below our window past midnight. Tonight a birthday party for a one-year-old was still going at 11:30 pm. We came for peace and quiet. If we wanted pool parties, we’d go to Ibiza.

The views in the morning are amazing, and it’s quiet at night. The room is pretty nice, and the amenities and cleanliness are good. The towels and sheets could be better for a 4-star place. Breakfast is very plain with few options and needs improvement. The Wi-Fi is terrible and only works around the pool. The restaurant is very, very good and reasonably priced for the quality. The saltwater pool is a nice extra.

It’s a charming, peaceful place in a lovely location that’s a little remote. The pool is nice and the food they serve is good quality. I’d definitely visit again.
