After two weeks of visiting cities, this peaceful, relaxing spot was just what we needed. Other visitors were friendly, and we enjoyed seeing families grill, share a glass of wine, let the kids play in the playground, and make use of the pool. The pool is beautiful and fun, and pool towels can be rented. Macinatico has lovely views over the rolling Tuscan hills, with spacious, comfortable, fully equipped apartments. It's 10 minutes from San Gimignano and a 45-minute to 1-hour drive from Florence. There's no restaurant on site, but each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, and there are grills. The COOP market is a 10-minute drive away in Certaldo or San Gimignano. Laundry facilities are on site, along with an outdoor table and umbrellas for meals outside.

Olive gardens, vineyards, and a lovely view towards the San Gimignano landscape make for vivid surroundings. There's local wine and olive oil available at reception, and the place is family friendly. The interiors are spacious, the beds and bedrooms comfortable, and the pool area is great. Staff were friendly and discreet. We'd come back.

There really wasn't anything to complain about during our week at Apartment Rosamarino B in July-August 2019. We were 4 adults and 6 kids, and the pool had enough room even when everyone was using it. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, and the kitchen was properly equipped. The house itself was lovely, with an even better view of San Gimignano, and the owners were friendly and flexible. The little practical things worked well too: every apartment had a BBQ, the pool vacuum cleaned the water each morning, and the laundry room had two washers and a dryer. If reception was shut, ringing the bell brought someone over within about 5 minutes. There was good wine in the shop, and plenty of places to visit nearby.

The wine was the last thing we loved, but definitely one of the best parts. We ate at Antico Desco, just 5 minutes away, and found it the best restaurant of our trip. San Gimigiano is 10 minutes away, Siena about 45, and the train station 10 minutes. The place is close to so much in Tuscany while still feeling tucked away and peaceful.
