Tenuta Sovestro - Agriturismo e Winery

The shuttle into town and back was handy, especially at night. The walk back is beautiful, though, so I’d definitely recommend doing it. We loved being close to town while still staying somewhere peaceful. The bed and pillows were comfy, and the water pressure was great. We spent 4 nights here for my 40th birthday, and it was amazing. My husband arranged a surprise for the morning of my birthday, and the hotel set up bubbles, a gorgeous fruit plate, and flowers. So sweet. The property is very peaceful and has a nice pool. We booked the junior suite with panoramic views and a balcony. It was the only room with a balcony, and it was quiet and away from the other rooms. I got some amazing birthday photos. The stay was a highlight of our trip, and I’d love to come back.

The three pools were amazing, and the grotto pool was a dream. We had it to ourselves. Our room had AC, which was a lifesaver, and breakfast was pretty good. The free shuttle to San Gimignano was a plus. On a nice day, take the shuttle there and enjoy the downhill walk back to the hotel. We stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was a highlight of the trip. The staff were friendly, and the hotel and BnB are absolutely beautiful. If I return to Italy, I’m skipping the big cities and staying entirely at Tenuta Sovestro.

The wines were excellent, especially the Vernaccia and Chianti. We could simply enjoy a tasting without having to book a full meal, which was refreshing. The whole experience felt genuine and unhurried, exactly the kind of thing that makes Tuscany special. Tenuta Sovestro was a highlight of our trip, with a peaceful, authentic setting, beautiful vineyard views, and a welcoming family atmosphere. Highly recommend it if you’re visiting San Gimignano!

We loved the wine so much that we shipped a case home. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we appreciated being able to do a tasting without a reservation. Dinner and breakfast at DaPode were fantastic, and after a hot afternoon walking around San Gimignano, the pool was perfect. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated, and the A/C worked well. The only downside for us was that the mattress and pillows were too firm, though that seemed to be the same everywhere we stayed in Italy.
