The view from our clean, comfortable room, Paziosa, was magnificent, but a few things could use attention. The room’s tiny stand-up shower wasn’t good, the fridge was noisy, and the air conditioning couldn’t get the room to a comfortable temperature. Wi-Fi was so slow that I used my phone as a router to check email and browse. Room towels are changed after three nights, not every day, and pool towels cost extra, which I didn’t expect at EUR180/day. The house surroundings and pool looked a bit tired, and both they and the narrow road to the B&B need maintenance. The breakfast was simple but good, served by a very nice woman who spoke only Italian. The owners were friendly, though we had no contact with them after check-in. Check-out is at 10, and check-in is only from 5pm to 7pm. If you arrive late, eat beforehand and buy drinks on the way, since there’s nothing to purchase when you arrive. The highlight of our Italian trip, and the most beautiful bed and breakfast in San Giminano. Do yourself a favour and stay here, it’s breathtaking.

It may suit you if you want somewhere peaceful, but bring your own food and drinks because they don’t serve anything there.

The hosts are great, and the place has bags of quiet countryside charm. It feels like a blast from the past.
