Couldn’t ask for a more central place to stay, and it’s an easy walk from either the main gate or the side parking lot. The family who runs it is friendly and accommodating. San Gimi itself is an absolute gem, so do stay here.

San Gimignano quickly became one of my favorite places in the world. We only had one night here and wished we’d had much longer. There were so many shops selling olive oil, wine, pasta, leather bags, and handmade goods, plus lots of lovely places for drinks and dinner. Staying here made it easy to explore on foot. The room was beautiful, with plenty of room for our luggage, the staff were helpful with our questions, and there’s an excellent restaurant next door. The owners also have a restaurant nearby. Getting there by train and bus was stressful because the buses gave us trouble, though it all worked out in the end. Google Maps wasn’t quite right about the bus number or schedule, and the 130 and 133 don’t all take the same route to San G. They don’t run very often either. Our bus showed up 18 minutes late, and we weren’t sure it would come at all. The early weekday bus was packed with high school students, who were a bit rough as they let us off at the train station with all our bags. If you can drive or have someone take you, that would probably be easier. The lodging itself is just a couple of streets and turns from the main entrance, which we really liked.

We’ve been here for three nights, and the room has been simply beautiful, with an excellent bathroom and shower. Patrizzia, our host, is utterly fantastic. This hotel is to die for, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.
