Breakfast was good, and the place is a decent option inside the San Gimignano citadel, with breakfast included for the price. The room wasn’t perfectly clean and the bed was average. We could hear people downstairs talking in the morning. There’s no elevator, so you’ll have to carry your luggage up the stairs.

The building is lovely and stylish, and the hotel’s location was perfect. The staff were kind and friendly. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee machine was filthy and the espresso tasted bad, like coffee in Austria or Germany. The room looked out onto a dirty backyard, and the bathroom hygiene was poor too, with mold and hairs in the shower.

We really enjoyed the food at the restaurant, especially the ossobucco, and the cappuccinos were great. This family-run guest house sits at the bottom of San Gimignano, with a bus stop just 50 meters away. Breakfast is a generous continental spread.

Breakfast could easily rival what you’d get at a 5* hotel. Our room had an old-fashioned feel, but it was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The location is ideal, just inside the old town behind one of the gates.
