It's about a 30 minute walk into San Gimignano's center, with its good restaurants and cozy shops. The route goes up and down a bit, so it suits people in normal shape. I'd arrange a rental car or driver before arriving, since there aren't many taxis or buses in this small community. Podere Sant’Elena is a little gem just outside town, with clean, cozy, comfortable rooms, quiet surroundings, a lovely pool area and a really good breakfast. The garden looks over fields toward the city, and the people running the place are incredibly kind. A friend and I stayed four days in October and wished we could have stayed longer. It's ideal for adults wanting a quiet break from everyday life. I'd recommend it to friends and family, and would love to return myself.

The location gives you a lovely view of San Gimignano and the surrounding area from the garden, while keeping you away from the tourist bustle. You can walk to town in about 30 minutes along a scenic vineyard route, or drive or take a taxi in five. We highly recommend this B&B if you're visiting San Gimignano. The service was great, the garden views stunning, and the rooms clean and quiet. Breakfast was really good too. Everything about our stay felt perfect.

The countryside and the towers of San Gimignano look breathtaking from here, especially around sunset. You can take in the view from the pool above an olive grove, or over breakfast, when Barbara serves delicious food. She's such a good baker she has a bakery in town, so don't miss the pastries. Barbara was kind and helpful, with great recommendations. Our room was clean, stylish and very well kept. It's an easy walk to San Gimignano, and a short drive to lots of beautiful Tuscan towns, especially Volterra. For dinner, I'd recommend Refugio just a few steps away. The food and DOCG wines are great and reasonably priced. I'll be back!

We stayed for a week in early July 2025, and everything was parfect! Barbara and Silvia were very hospitable and worked hard to keep us happy. The apartments were extra clean, very nice and in a Toscana (Italy) style. The complex has a shared terrace and a pool among the olive trees, with a breathtaking view of the San Gimignano landscape. It's in a perfect spot in the middle of Toscana for exploring the region.

The setting is what makes this stay: the property is beautiful, with a huge pool and a stunning view of San Gimignano. Barbara, Silvia, Silvio, and everyone else on staff were lovely. They answered all our questions, helped us out whenever we needed it, and shared several useful recommendations. For a Tuscan getaway, this is a great choice. Highly recommend!
