We’d stayed here last year and had a great time, so it’s a real shame that this visit went so badly. The furnishings were modern and attractive, the bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked excellently. But the services were truly poor, despite the immediate payment they demanded. The building looks very old and poorly maintained from outside, not like a B&B, though the renovated rooms inside looked modern. This time it seemed they’d booked us into the wrong room, or one that wasn’t ready to be used. The towels were yellowed and never changed. The shower enclosure was broken, and the sliding glass came off at one point. Luckily the top part of the showerhead held, or the outcome might have been much worse. There were opened, used disposable soaps and shower gels, rust and mold, a dirty spare pillow without a cover in the closet, dirty walls, and a badly made bed with the sheets dragging on the floor. There was no real reception. A young woman greeted us, but spoke very little Italian. When we arrived to park the car, we were told the parking was full, though that got sorted out shortly afterward, at 2am. We didn’t know who to call at that hour, so we rang random bells around the separately paid parking lot, risking disturbing people. Eventually a very kind gentleman opened the door and told us there were no spaces. The car ended up spending more time in the uncovered blue-lined parking below the station room than in the separate garage, which was a real inconvenience. The parking operated on certain hours. We contacted three numbers to book. The day before arrival, yet another number called and gave us a further number to contact for check-in, since nobody was at reception that day. Breakfast was never included, because the place was more like a betting shop than a bar. We’re very sorry, as the first time cost less and everything had gone well.

It’s been four years since we last stayed at Ville Vesuviane, and management has changed. Fedele is courteous, dependable, and helpful, and the cleaning staff were welcoming and thorough. The building still needs renovation, but the location and staff make it an excellent base. There’s no elevator, and parking is in a convenient garage. The Circumvesuviana station is only steps away, with Naples a 10-minute ride from there. I highly recommend the place.

As soon as you walk into the building, you can feel the Neapolitan atmosphere. It’s a really distinctive place, with spotless, beautiful, roomy rooms and all the comforts you could want. The two young men who welcomed us were very kind and helpful. Some people have written otherwise, but we found breakfast complete and generous, including traditional warm sfogliatelle. The location deserves five stars. Those two deserve recognition too, especially as they don’t work in more fortunate tourist environments. Congratulations!

Teresa, Giuseppe, and Cristian welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home right away. The rooms were lovely and very clean. Highly recommended.

The rooms are very nice, with marble bathrooms, and the location is excellent. The building looks dilapidated on arrival, though, and a mix-up left us embarrassed. The staff seemed friendly, but things need reconsidering.
