A comfortable place to stay.

Amazing.

The biggest problem was how slowly dinner was served. We were attending a Saturday evening event at the castle, and the email had promised a buffet, but it never appeared. The room did open at 8 pm as scheduled, though the temperature inside was under 18 degrees. In the end, the bill was over 50 euros. The glass of wine for two that was supposed to be included was missing, and we were charged 6 euros for it instead, which is a price in line with usual rates anyway, but it wasn't worth paying. I’ve done this work for 16 years, and staff training before an evening like this is a MUST!

I want to be clear that my complaint is about the Halloween 2022 evening, not the hotel. I booked the dinner and disco package, and it was a huge disappointment. The flyer said the music would run until 4:30, but we were already outside the castle at 3:30. Friends were still collecting their jackets, and security spoke to us in an unpleasant, threatening way, repeatedly telling everyone to leave and move away from the entrance. Some people were genuinely waiting for others to come out. At one point, as a crowd headed for the gate, the bouncers followed us, calling out in a provocative tone that we had to get out. We’d paid a lot and were treated like delinquents. The disco hall was horribly overcrowded. People were packed together and pushing, so dancing was impossible. If there had been an emergency, I honestly don’t know how it would have ended. There was only one bathroom, with waits of over half an hour, and the line for drinks was just as bad. “Unlimited drinks” felt like a treasure hunt, and there were only two places to order. If you knew that many people would come, you needed more service points, or better yet, you shouldn’t have let so many people in. The menu looked tempting online, but nearly everything arrived cold and the portions were tiny. The paccheri with tomato and shrimp were especially bad: the pasta was undercooked, the sauce cold, and the shrimp practically nonexistent. They were boreali, the low-grade kind sold frozen in discount stores. I can’t understand serving dishes without tasting them first. Maybe you assumed that because many guests were young, anything would do, but for what we paid, the food should have been better. The welcome aperitif was advertised for 8:30 pm, but there weren’t even a couple of appetizers with it. That was still acceptable up to a point. The last dinner course probably didn’t arrive until 11:30 pm. This was a flop, and I’m sorry, but next time I’d advise you to organize things better. If you can’t handle an event properly, it’s better not to put it on.
