I only went to the restaurant and bar, not the hotel, and I’d avoid it. I stopped for food before continuing a hike. There was no one looking after the tables, just a woman behind the bar, so I picked up the menu that was on a table in front of me and checked the prices. When I went to order a panini for €3.50, she asked, “Am I too slow for you?” before I’d even said anything. I was caught off guard and confused since I don’t speak Italian fluently. I said no and placed the order. The panini turned out to be stale bread with two slices of ordinary cheese, the worst snack I’ve had in Italy so far. Maybe she was having a bad day, and I’m sorry if so, but I left wishing I hadn’t gone in.

After a few hours of trekking, we stopped in for coffee, apple strudel, and a marmalade tart. The tart was okay, but the strudel was cold and didn’t taste very good. Fine for a quick break, though I’d probably go elsewhere if I had another option.

The location was wonderful, but the rest of our stay over the June 2nd long weekend was a letdown. We’d stayed with Village Hotel at the beach a couple of times and had great experiences, so we chose them for the mountains too. This time, the three-star hotel was dirty from the entrance onward, dusty and sticky, with overflowing bins right outside. Our room was just as bad: stained sheets, matching pillows, dirty walls, and a bathroom full of mold that felt sticky and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. Maybe we were a bit unlucky, and we knew the hotel was inexpensive, but cheap doesn’t have to mean dirty. We’ll leave breakfast out of it. Such a shame about the setting. To me, this was a minus-three-star hotel.

I came to get my ID back, but the property couldn’t find it and nobody knew where it was. The manager said it had probably been taken to their offices in CESENATICO, without my permission or any notice. I was told they’d check and send it to me, but when I asked whether it was in the Cesenatico offices, I got no reply. A different number later sent a scan and said the document had been mailed. Ten days passed with nothing arriving, and when I asked for tracking, I found that their message hadn’t even been delivered. I tried the WhatsApp number again and got no answer for a month. This all started after my friend and I stayed on the nights of January 30th and 31st. I’d arrived 10-15 minutes before check-in and handed over my ID for registration. They kept it, saying they’d return it after my friend checked in shortly before dinner. Two weeks after I got home, I realized I didn’t have it. I contacted the property through the hotel chain’s number, since there was no direct number, and they admitted it was there. No one had told me. They offered in-person pickup or courier delivery. I spent a month trying to arrange a courier, then decided to come on Easter Monday. I messaged the website’s emergency WhatsApp number to ask if the property was open. There was no reply, even days later. Before going, I contacted the Guardia di Finanza station to check whether the hotel was open. Stay away from places like this.
