Hotel Belvedere

Dinner became one of our favorite parts of the stay. Each night brought a different four-course set menu, and the servers helped us understand what to order. The dishes were outstanding, and sharing a table with other guests and seeing Italians on vacation made us feel part of one big family. Breakfast was just as good, with lots of delicious choices, great coffee, and wine. My wife was especially eager to get down in the morning. We were sad to leave Hotel Belvedere after three nights of our honeymoon. The family running it were kind and welcoming, and went out of their way to make us comfortable even though we speak very little Italian. The hotel is charming and tastefully decorated, with spacious rooms and beautiful views. There’s plenty of parking, a sparkling-clean pool overlooking the mountains, and a spa where my wife loved her massage. Our time in the Dolomites felt special, and we’re already planning to come back. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Marcello and Monica made us feel at home throughout our stay, while remaining professional and welcoming. I visited Hotel Belvedere in March just before its seasonal break with a friend, and we stayed in a recently renovated double room. The woodwork was beautiful, and the scent of the wood was amazing. From our balcony, we had a stunning view of the famous “Pale di San Martino.” There’s also a lovely bar near the entrance on the ground floor, with excellent drinks and a great selection of scotch and whiskey. It’s a beautiful family-run hotel in the heart of San Martino di Castrozza, and I’d happily recommend it.

I keep coming back to the family-run Belvedere Hotel every year and feel at home there. It’s centrally located for hiking around Passo Rolle, and has a spa with a pool and saunas. There’s plenty to choose from at breakfast, and dinner is delicious. The owners’ son also makes sophisticated cocktails, perfect for a relaxing afternoon on the terrace overlooking the Dolomites. I hope I get lucky and return next year!

The quiet setting near the village center and a Ski Shuffle stop, along with the view of the Dolomites, made the trip well worth it. Marcello and Monica are kind, welcoming owners, and I was told their family has run the hotel for three generations. The place feels like home. For the price, having access to the spa and typical Italian dinners prepared by a great chef made for excellent value. I’d definitely recommend it and will return in summer.
