The beach is beautiful and very close to the hotel. The staff, though, were only somewhat friendly. A nice atmosphere matters on vacation, but the people working there made it feel unpleasant to talk with customers. The rest is covered in other comments.

The central location is the one real plus for me. Outside, traffic isn't loud, though the pedestrian area has music until midnight on some days. Inside, the noise is another story: you can hear water running in the next room when a neighbor turns on the tap, and doors bang loudly when shut at night. After showering, water ends up on the bathroom floor. There was no fruit at breakfast. The notices in the lift asking guests to pay a day before departure, and at the breakfast room entrance warning that taking food away means you have to pay for it, don't feel like a very polite way to speak to guests.

Hotel Village management offers prepaid holiday packages during your stay, but you can't buy one because a few days before you leave they tell you the hotel is overbooked. Never again!
