We stopped at their restaurant for a glass of wine on the sunny piazza, and we enjoyed it. This was our second stay here while walking the Via Francigena. The hotel is centrally located, the staff are helpful, and my friend and I loved the beds and bathroom. After a day of walking, we appreciated the Roman jacuzzi cave. The water could have been hotter, though we probably should have asked.

The beds were comfortable, though the rooms are on the small side. There’s no lift, so we had to haul our suitcase up a lot of stone stairs.

I came across this little San Miniato gem in May and really enjoyed staying here. The town center location is spot on, and the place was quiet, clean, modern in its touches, and comfortable. Antonio made me feel very welcome, as did the staff next door at the Essenza restaurant. Parking was easy enough, and the short walk to the lot is lovely. Thanks to everyone at Palazzo Essenza for making my stay so comfortable.

The building is lovely and has been recently restored. The nearest parking is about a seven-minute walk away, and there isn’t parking close by. Breakfast costs extra. You can book access to the sensory shower and jacuzzi area for an additional fee. Staff weren’t very helpful with customers speaking English or Spanish.
