Ghe Kale' Resort

Really good.

The property is very beautiful, but the hospitality left me disappointed. I travel for work often and stay in 3- and 4-star hotels in Italy and abroad, so I have plenty to compare it with. This stay fell short in several ways. There was hardly anyone around. Over four days, I saw just two people, taking turns serving breakfast. Nobody else seemed to be there, and reception was unattended. It felt disgraceful. The room was bare. There was no paper or pen, no phone, no water or glass, and the minibar was empty. I also couldn't find a shower kit, slippers or bathrobe, spare blanket, or a kettle with tea or herbal tea. I've had these basics in 3-star hotels, so I expected them at a place described as a "4-star resort." The breakfast letter in the room promised something "genuine and abundant." Given the location, in one of the world's finest food destinations, I expected a buffet with plenty of local treats. Instead, breakfast was a cold croissant, a glass with three teaspoons of plain yogurt, two small plates with two teaspoons of jam, four toasts, and coffee or cappuccino. On just one day I also got scrambled eggs and bread, but it was a mini portion with two tiny slices. There wasn't even butter or toast. Nothing was homemade, so it was neither genuine nor abundant. Simple 3-star hotels serve better breakfasts. Service also needs rethinking. My wife was feeling unwell and stayed in the room, so I asked for tea to take back to her. They said they couldn't provide it because there were no takeaway cups. I expected someone at a "4-star resort" to offer to bring it up, but that didn't happen. I also asked for a small bottle of water and was told there wasn't one. The very kind gentleman gave me a 2-liter bottle meant for the staff instead. I've been treated much better at several 3-star hotels. A few changes could have made the stay more comfortable: more staff, a better-equipped room, and a more generous breakfast with local specialties like sfogliatelle. Such a shame. The place is lovely, but it's lacking in hospitality.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, and the room was spacious and modern, with good air conditioning, a very comfortable bed, and a spectacular garden view. I just got back from this resort and wanted to share how kind and professional the staff were from the start. Everyone was smiling and helpful. The property is surrounded by greenery and meticulously cared for, with a peaceful feel throughout. The large, spotless pool is a real highlight, with comfortable loungers and umbrellas around it. It seems like an ideal spot for a couple's vacation.
