B&B Al Melograno

A real Salento experience by the sea. Rosa is a super host, polite, discreet and always helpful. The room was spotless, and breakfast included homemade pasticciotto and crostata made by her ♥️

We spent six days at B&B Al Melograno and found it a handy base for exploring Salento by car. Santa Maria di Leuca and Otranto took about an hour to reach, and we visited nearby places including Gallipoli, Porto Cesareo, Lecce and Nardò. Galatone’s church is worth seeing, a little-known gem. It also works for a slower holiday. The B&B lends umbrellas and deckchairs for a walk to the public beach, where the water and seabed are stunning in the protected marine reserve. Porto Cesaro is about ten minutes away, with more shops and services, pharmacies, supermarkets, bars, ice cream shops, nightclubs and lidos for summer evenings by the sea with music. The area is very quiet and parking wasn’t a problem. The rooms are small and cozy, with bathrooms, though there’s no bidet. With summer showers happening often, we didn’t miss one. Breakfast is self-service, with hot and cold drinks and assorted desserts, including the delicious local pasticciotto. There’s also an accessible terrace for eating, smoking outdoors, washing and drying beach things, or having a barbecue. Ms. Rosa was kind and accommodating from our first call, flexible about schedules and needs, and suggested several places to visit. The rooms are cleaned every two days, but everything was so clean and welcoming that we asked her to do it less often since we were usually out. Rosa welcomed us again this year with a smile and such warm hospitality. She does her best to meet every request. The room was spotless and simple, with a fridge and air conditioning; the bathroom had towels and shower products. We felt comfortable and looked after, like we were at home. The terrace has a breathtaking view. I highly recommend this B&B. Thank you, Rosa! 🌹

We felt right at home at this little, comfortable B&B. Mrs. Rosa was so kind and ready to help with whatever we needed, and everything was very clean. Breakfast is self-serve, with a capsule coffee machine, packaged brioche, yogurt and juice. Mrs. Rosa also surprised us with pastries and fresh fruit during our stay. The surroundings are fantastic too. My wife and I had a lovely time and would happily recommend it.
