The restaurant staff were friendly, quick, and attentive, and they made sure we had filling, delicious vegan options at both dinner and breakfast. We were touring the Tuscan Hill Towns and found the little village picturesque, with the spa set in peaceful, lovely grounds at its entrance. Our room was elegant and tastefully decorated. I had a look around the spa, which seemed inviting and relaxing, though we didn't have time to use the amenities. One of the best stays of our trip.

The thermal water is genuinely therapeutic, and the view is nice. The setting itself is charming, picturesque, and intimate, but the services felt unremarkable and underwhelming for the premium price.

No one asked how our stay had gone when we checked out and paid, which summed up the poor customer service. We were also charged the “prefestivo” rate for Monday, 30 December, even though the bank holiday was 1 January, so its eve was 31 December, not the 30th. The pool water in the Roman sauna was dirty, and a few guests ignored the “Quiet please” sign by the entrance. There were drinking glasses and cups, despite the hotel having facilities to wash them. We found the stone village setting around the restaurant really relaxing, and the food and wine lived up to high Tuscan standards. The restaurant quality was very high. It's a resort style hotel in an enchanting location, with hot thermal baths and relaxation rooms that made it ideal for unwinding. Parking is available, and the staff were helpful and spoke English.

The spa was a relaxing part of our stay, and there are historic ruins nearby. We were also right by bike rentals. The room was comfortable, in a building among historic stone structures. It was a great place to stay while enjoying everything Tuscany has to offer.
