La Torre Rooms

We stayed for two days and found the apartment really clean and well maintained, with nearly everything we needed: a gas stove, cooking gear, cutlery, a hair dryer, and a washing machine we could use for free. The balcony had a nice view, and the location worked well for Tuscany photography spots, most of which were a 10-30 minute drive away. The owner even texted months later to say we'd left something behind and kept it for us until we could pick it up while passing through Tuscany. Getting in was stressful at first. The owner hadn't answered our questions on booking.com, so we had no check-in details. At about 2:50, nobody was home. It's an apartment above the owner's house with its own outside entrance, and there are stairs up to the door and more stairs inside, with no lift. At 3pm the owner returned by bicycle, gave us the key, and checked us in. We mostly used a translation app because of the language barrier, but managed fine. The main drawback was the lack of air conditioning. Fans were provided, but we arrived during a two-day heatwave, with temperatures of 38 and 40 degrees Celsius, and it was hard to bear. Other guests' photos seem to show AC in the "La Torre Room," but not in the "La Torre house," which is a private one-bedroom apartment. Parking is on the street; there are several spaces in front, though residents may have taken them. It would be fine in cooler weather, and I'd happily return in autumn or spring, just not summer.

We were sorry to leave such a welcoming, pleasant place after our two nights in June. Thanks again to Mrs. Carletti, who runs "La Torre Rooms." The house is beautiful and new, under 1 km from central San Quirico. It's about a 15-minute walk, but the area is very quiet, with no traffic noise, and there was plenty of parking in front. The lady welcomed us warmly and gave us Room 1. It turned out to be one of two bedrooms in a small apartment on the second floor. The bedrooms share a living area and kitchen, but each has a private bathroom attached and its own lockable door. Our spacious room was tastefully furnished, with a big, comfortable bed, a table for two, and a small refrigerator. The bathroom was attractive, practical, and well equipped. Everything looked nearly new and was spotless, and all the windows opened and had mosquito screens. The apartment's kitchen was elegant and had more than enough equipment, including an espresso machine with capsules topped up daily and several kinds of tea. We especially liked that the capsules were Caffe Borbone, a really high-quality brand. The apartment also has a large, lovely terrace with a table and armchairs, a great place to unwind. We were delighted with our stay, which exceeded our expectations.

We felt at home right away. The room was comfortable and welcoming, and we had a pleasant stay at the property. The only minor uncertainty was whether we were allowed to use a kettle in the room.
