The quiet location and private common areas were positives, even though the B&B is in a residential complex. Inside, the decor was simple, elegant, and welcoming. The finishings looked good, which made the poor maintenance more disappointing. Switch covers were missing, parts of the baseboard were gone from the room, and a bathroom tile beside the light switch was broken and could cut someone. The double bed had only one bedside table, a stool on the other side, no lamps, and just the main ceiling light. We also found several differences from the listing, or details that could be misunderstood. Parking is free, but on a municipal road. Breakfast is included only if that means pod-machine coffee and nothing else; the photos showed something quite different. The “full kitchen” was a sink and switched-off fridge, with a coffee maker on top. Our room had a shared bathroom rather than an en-suite one. There was no option to choose when booking, so we ended up with the room whose bathroom was outside. I’m offering this as advice to the owners based on what I actually found, since it didn’t match the description.

The bar for the included breakfast is at least a 20-minute walk away. There were also some oversights, like not having enough towels for everyone and no basic single-use toiletries such as shower gel. The notes provided can leave you with the wrong expectations, for example, the bathroom is shared with other guests. As a place just to sleep, it can do.

We had booked two nights with breakfast for a weekend as a couple, but on the first morning we couldn’t use the breakfast service because the lady gave us the name of the place too late. It wasn’t on site, but at a bar about 1.5 km away. Not knowing where to go, we paid extra at a nearby bar despite having paid for breakfast. There was a coffee machine in the house, but it didn’t work either. The room was a bit outside the center. We only discovered on arrival that the bathroom was shared between two adjoining first-floor rooms, which hadn’t been mentioned on the booking website. Fortunately, the other room was unoccupied, but we didn’t know whether the bathroom was clean. It wasn’t, and the lady cleaned it after handing over the keys. The boiler didn’t work, so the water was cold. There was only one towel, and I had to ask the cleaning lady for more the next morning. There were no toiletries, just a half-broken soap bottle. I didn’t like how customers were treated. There was little courtesy or attention, and not much respect for what we paid. I don’t recommend it, and I wouldn’t return.

Nobody came to the front desk, so we got directions to the room over the phone. During our three days there, the room was never cleaned and the towels were never changed. The bathroom was shared, although the lady had assured us it was in the room. The TV remote had no batteries. She told us to call if we needed anything, but stopped answering after she received the transfer. Even worse, she didn’t ask to see our IDs. We could have been criminals! Criminals could have stayed with us! This isn’t how you run a B&B. One to forget, and I strongly advise against it.
