Studio in Lu Nibareddu Vacation Residence

We fell in love with Sardinia and would happily come back here next year. The views were stunning, and even though the area around the hotel could use a cleanup, with wires and deep holes from ground works, it didn't take away from them. We had a peaceful, stress-free stay off season. The staff made us feel welcome from check-in through all four nights, and our modern apartment had everything we needed. The pool was clean, with a separate shallow section for little kids and a deeper area. On checkout day, we were given a beach parking tag and complimentary towels, so we could enjoy a couple of hours by the sea before our flight home.

The apartment smelled of mould the whole time, with damp walls, mould growing up them, and flaky paint coming off. Nobody cleaned during our stay, and I had to find a cleaner myself to ask for more toilet paper and towels. The outside area faced the main path, so people were always walking by. There was no view, and we could hear every noise from upstairs. Reception staff were generally friendly, but the older short-haired woman at checkout was abrupt and rude. There was no supervision at the pools. Children were running along the edges, playing hide and seek around the sunbeds, and their parents ignored it. One German family had their child in the pool naked and without a nappy, and people were drinking bottled alcohol in the pools. Maybe that's a cultural difference. We ate at the pool restaurant once. The pizza had no flavour, and half the chips were too hard to eat. I wish I had something positive to say, but the whole place was a shambles. I don't recommend it and won't return.

Apartment 304 was a jackpot for us, with a huge terrace and panoramic views. We just got home from the best week at this place. Getting there from the airport was easy, about 20 minutes on straightforward roads, and the area is beautiful. The hotel and apartments have a distinctive feel. The village is a ten-minute walk away, with restaurants, a shop, an ice cream shop, and a launderette. On site, both pools were immaculate, never crowded, and had plenty of space. One was ideal for children. The restaurants were well maintained and served lovely food. The beach is a ten-minute drive down a track, which wasn't too much hassle.

We paid 1700 euros for four nights in a suite, which already felt unreasonable. After two days at the beach and pool, we asked to exchange our used room towels for clean ones and were told it would cost another 15-30 euros depending on our party size. When I checked whether that meant using the same towels for the whole stay, they suggested a laundromat in the next town. Our room was never cleaned, and the kitchen had no cooking supplies, not even salt and pepper. The staff weren't reasonable about this. The location is decent and the pools are nice, but I don't think the price is worth it and would suggest staying elsewhere. The air conditioner couldn't keep the unit cool. To be fair, it was very hot when we were there, but that's exactly when you want the air conditioning to work.
