La Casa Di Piandelbello

A beautiful B&B with fully equipped apartments and a lovely pool, ideal for a truly relaxing holiday. It's surrounded by the lush Umbrian countryside, with oaks and olive trees and plenty of peace and quiet. Marsciano, Perugia, and Assisi are just a few kilometers away.

The view and surroundings are stunning, and the pool is wonderfully refreshing. It was cleaned every morning. We stayed for two weeks as a family with our four daughters, aged 16, 14, 9, and 2. The owner welcomed us very warmly, showed us around, and gave us some useful information. We stayed in Gelsomino, a four-room apartment with four plus four beds. It has two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath, and two living rooms, each with a kitchenette. There's also a lovely large balcony. We went to Rome, the dying town of Cività di Bagnoregio, and the Marmore waterfalls. Keep in mind that outings take at least an hour of driving, often longer. For a four-star stay, I expected better furniture. The dining chairs and tables were wobbly, and the beds were uncomfortably hard. We also missed a few kitchen utensils, like a kettle, soup and gravy ladles, and a whisk, although there was enough of everything else. The outdoor furniture was mostly functional iron and rather hard. We put cushions from the indoor chairs on them, which made them more comfortable. I gave it four stars for the gorgeous setting and friendly owner, but for the accommodation and furnishings I'd lean closer to three.

We first came here in 2015, and this year we got the chance to return to Pian del bello for two weeks at Villa Clara. The kitchen was small, but we felt comfortable there and cooked as well as eating out. The furnishings were typically Italian, and the house had a dishwasher, kettle, small oven, and its own WiFi. The grounds are spacious. Our villa was about 50 metres from another building with holiday apartments of different sizes. The pool was big enough. During the warm first week, a swim was a welcome way to cool off and have fun, but in the second week it had become quite chilly, so we couldn't stay in for long. There was room to lie comfortably on the garden chairs, though we wished they had cushions. There were lots of ants around, and with no direct terrace, we often had to walk through them. A larger terrace would help too, as the rough stones were quite painful underfoot. Getting to the holiday apartment is an adventure, but if peace and quiet are what you want, this is the place.

Getting here takes some effort, but the location makes it worthwhile. We found relaxation, quiet, and great neighbors.
