Masseria Zambardo

The cooking class at the sister property, Masseria Incantalupi, was a real highlight. Maria was patient, knowledgeable, and engaging as she guided us through veal roulade, orecchiette, and tiramisù. We ate what we made outside on Incantalupi’s lovely terrace, surrounded by the Apulian countryside. Back at Masseria Zambardo, we loved the quiet country setting and the sense of complete relaxation. Breakfast was a treat each morning: cured meats, cheeses, eggs, fresh fruit, cakes, fresh juices, and rich coffee, served on a vine-covered terrace overlooking the pool. The pool was spacious and crystal-clear, with lavender around it. We didn’t get any mosquito bites, and wondered if the lavender might have helped. The staff were attentive and friendly, and communicating in English was no problem. Thanks especially to Anna for her excellent service and fluent English, she made us feel very welcome. We loved our stay and plan to return next year. Highly recommend the place for its peace, food, and southern Italian hospitality, and the cooking classes with Maria for a taste of authentic Puglian cuisine.

The garden breakfasts under the grape pergola were unforgettable, with homemade cakes and jams and fresh fruit from the farm. The place felt intimate and peaceful, with lush plants and animals all around. The generous, friendly staff made it feel like home, and even lent us an umbrella for the beach. We also enjoyed the poolside bar, our private patio, and the artisanal soap in the bathroom. There were lots of children enjoying the pool and playing with the horses and cats. We arrived early, and they kindly let us have breakfast that day. Everything was perfect, and we can’t wait to come back.

We only stayed one night, but we’ll definitely come back. The rooms have a rustic yet elegant feel, and the pool and dining patio are breathtaking. Breakfast was fantastic, with fruit and jams grown or made on the property. The service was impeccable, and it’s a spectacular place. Mesagne’s beautiful Baroque historic center is a 10-minute drive away, and Ostuni is about 30 minutes away.

We arrived in early spring, before tourist season, and the wisteria behind our room was beautiful. Breakfast the next morning, overlooking the pool in the sunshine, was magnificent. It’s around a half-hour drive from Brindisi airport, and the former farm’s countryside setting is idyllic, quiet, and relaxing. We only spent one night at Masseria Zambardo, but both the location and hospitality impressed us. The owner was very friendly and happy to chat with guests and take care of them.
