The area is beautiful, and the owners are fantastic people. I wish I spoke Italian, because Mr D is fascinating. Hearing a little about how he built the house and manages the land and surrounding area makes the stay worthwhile.

We stayed in two trulli with room for eight. The big olive grove around them was peaceful, with cicadas as the main daytime noise, while the stone walls kept things quiet for sleeping at night. We cooked outside and ate beneath the shade of a grape arbor. A beautiful place in San Vito dei Normanni, Taranto, Puglia. There’s a pool for the little ones, too.
