The internal garden at A Cavalera was a lovely place to sit and relax. Even though the place is very central, the road is quiet, so you can enjoy the silence and the sound of seabirds. The building has an Arabic style, reflecting the town’s North African influence over the years. A Cavalera is a beautiful, very central place to stay in San Vito lo Capo, in a part of Sicily with a wild, natural setting between beach and mountains. The famous white sand beach with palm trees is a couple of minutes’ walk down the road, and the main square and Church are just around the corner. The rooms are all different and distinctive, and clean. Lucia, the owner and manager, is joyful and very local looking, a native of San Vito lo Capo. She welcomed us warmly with food and drink and was on hand throughout our stay, while respecting our privacy. This place is worth staying at for a taste of real Sicilian life.

The room price was listed differently on Booking, and they first tried to charge us €9 extra. After we pushed back, we still paid €4.50 more than the quoted room price.
