For €250 a night, this was awful value. The booking photos make the apartment look bigger and better than it is; the advertised space seems to include the stairs, balcony, terrace and courtyard. The kitchen, which looks nice in the ultra-wide photo, is under 2 m². The finishes are as cheap as they come, with a €99 no-name 32-inch TV and thin walls and doors that let every sound through. Even the cutlery is half plastic, half metal, in a plastic basket. It feels like a basic social flat at a hefty price. The bed squeaks with every movement, making it hard to sleep. There’s no cleaning included, and you’re expected to wash the dishes and take the rubbish to the street bins or face another hefty fine. The promised bottle of water or welcome gift never appeared. On top of that, Google Maps has the wrong address and sends you to a closed gate at the back. Check the TripAdvisor opinions for more information. This was one of the worst rip-offs I’ve come across.

The apartment and the place itself are beautiful, and everything was clean. The owners are available if you need information. There’s also a nice pool for a dip when you get back from the sea. You can just settle in, relax, and enjoy this lovely part of Sicily.

I paid in advance by bank transfer for a single night booked through an agency, but when I arrived to collect the keys, they demanded an extra €85 for cleaning and fresh sheets. That charge wasn't listed in the reservation, so I objected. In the end I paid because they wouldn't hand over the keys otherwise, and I would have lost both the booking and accommodation costs. I felt robbed. I want to make people aware of the missing price information and the bad experience it caused, and I’ll do everything I can to get the money back.

We’ve still got a week left here, but I wanted to share my rating now: it’s above 10/10. Mrs. Elisa and her husband are wonderful and always available, and the apartment is beautiful, very clean, and furnished with brand new furniture. It has every comfort, including air conditioning and two terraces. The sea is around 700 meters away, about a 15-minute walk, and you can rent bicycles too. The centre becomes pedestrian-only after 6 p.m.; during the day it’s a limited traffic zone (ZTL), or parking costs €1 an hour. We were given a pass for free parking, and there’s plenty of space on the main road, so we could leave the car there without paying.
