Camping Village La Pineta

We were staying in a nearby villa, but ate at the restaurant here several times. The menu was extensive, the food was great, and the prices seemed reasonable. Service was really friendly too. The campsite looked lovely and family friendly, and its small shop had a good range for its size.

San Vito Lo Capo is beautiful, but the town felt dirty, hugely overpriced, and short on authentic Sicilian atmosphere. It came across as a tourist trap, and we won't return to this money focused tourism machine. At the campsite, the pool was nice, the facilities generally okay and mostly clean, and the guests were quiet and respectful. But there was excrement scattered around that was easy to step in, and litter was a serious issue. Staff seemed more interested in relaxing than picking up rubbish, and the employees came across as uninterested and rather impolite.

We came by motorcycle and were allowed to park near the very clean rooms. The beach is close and amazing. A wonderful spot, and a great place for families to visit.

The location was great, but we wouldn't recommend staying here. Our shared room was uncomfortable, with poor beds and air conditioning that couldn't keep it cool, so we left before our six-night booking was over. The staff were unfriendly throughout, especially at breakfast, where they were rude and unwelcoming. Breakfast itself was very poor: the fruit was past its best, juice appeared on only one day before being replaced by cordial, and there were queues for everything. You had to wait for pastries at the counter, coffee made by one person, and milk for cereal. The lifeguard also kept telling us not to jump into the pool or use inflatables, though other people were doing those things and neither was listed in the pool rules.
