Poli Hotel

The room was unbearably hot, and even after several talks with the front desk and their attempts to reset the air, it never cooled down. We had to sleep with the window open. They use far too much perfume to hide the hotel's stench. The place was clean, but the quality was poor. Breakfast was so-so; you can tell they were trying, but it missed the mark.

The hotel itself was fine, nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. Still, one grumpy staff member managed to spoil the four-star experience. We arrived just after 11 PM on July 21st, and the man at reception was downright rude for no reason. I stayed calm and spoke politely, trying to keep things peaceful. When I asked if he'd had a long day, he said he'd only just started his shift. That makes you wonder what he's like at the end of it, probably greeting people with a knife. He also seemed unhappy about our chatty toddler and the short queue of two people. Clearly, he doesn't enjoy his job.

The location is very bad, far from everything, with nothing to see nearby. If you're travelling with kids, forget it: there are no activities, no pool, and not even a fitness area. The nearest shopping centre is in another city, either Arese or legnano. They charged us 45 € a day to rent three bicycles. The room was spacious, with a nice bed, and it was clean. Wi-Fi wasn't very good, but usable. Breakfast buffet was poor, though the restaurant itself is good for lunch.

I still dream about the beautiful breakfast buffet, with almost two rooms of breakfast foods to choose from. The hotel was cute, the rooms clean and nice, with updated bathrooms and plenty of amenities, and the front desk staff were really nice too. We left after just one night because our room was unbearably hot and there was no AC. Opening the window meant too much noise. AC had been promised before we booked, so our travel agent called and they agreed to fix it ASAP or refund the second night. We went to dinner and came back late, but there was still no AC. We immediately booked somewhere else, and we still haven't received a refund.
