The room felt cramped as soon as we walked in, with the edge of the double bed almost against the entrance door. There was no wastebasket in either the room or bathroom, and no bath mat to step onto after a shower. The ground-floor room faced the municipal road, and privacy was limited: the French window had only an awning, no shutters or blinds, so it felt like being outside. Even opening and closing the front door with the key was difficult because there wasn’t enough room for it to swing properly. Breakfast was at a partner café 1.5 km away, which meant walking there and back if you didn’t have a car. My wife and I ordered a croissant and cappuccino, then were asked to pay when we requested a second croissant because it wasn’t included. For what we paid, we raised our concerns with someone, though we couldn’t tell if they were the owner or a representative. They gave us a negative review and an inadequate rating. We definitely won’t return. The next day we paid the same amount for a three-room trullo villa with a kitchen and everything we needed for a comfortable holiday in the Alberobello area. Sorry for the outburst, but it was the least I could do.

The welcome was great, and the rooms were pleasant and clean. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and knew their stuff. It’s 10 minutes from Gallipoli. Highly recommended.
