The breakfast was genuinely good, but the rest of the stay was very unpleasant. The hotel is beside a busy main road, so traffic kept us awake, and the double bed was two single mattresses with a gap between them. The mattress felt ancient, and neither of us could sleep properly. There was no space for a baby crib, so our baby slept in our bed, yet they charged us for the baby. When I raised the bed problem, the man at reception angrily said it was my choice of room. I hadn't thought to check the mattress. I booked through Expedia, and he was annoyed about that too.

I loved the breakfasts here, easily the best I've had in Italy. The rooms are out of this world, and I doubt you'll find a hotel in Sanremo that's more original or chic.

For my business night, the room was spotless and very spacious, with a high ceiling and a pleasant view of the street below. My colleague had a terrace of their own, with seating and a Parasol. Reception and breakfast staff were welcoming and quick to help. There was a broad choice of food, and drinks came by table service. It felt like great value, and I'd stay again if I'm back in the area.

The breakfast was a real highlight, especially the range of juices. The place itself is lovely, clearly made with care, very clean, and a pleasure to stay in. My room faced the street, though, and the noise was too loud, so I wouldn't recommend that side. The bed was also too soft. I'd come back, but ask for a room facing the other way.

It's an easy walk into town and down to the harbor, and the interior looks stylish. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was very good. Our beds weren't great, though, and rooms overlooking the main street get traffic noise. Dogs are allowed for 10 euros a day. Public parking is difficult to find in high season; the hotel's garage costs 20 Euro a day.
