Hotel Belle Epoque

The hotel staff were friendly, and the general manager and his assistants were helpful. The room had the 19th-century style shown in the pictures, and everything worked. The problems were more significant for me. I was charged a nonrefundable amount for the second week of my cancelled stay. The street under the window was noisy, with cars, bikes, and emergency vehicles using sirens passing all the time. Breakfast cost extra; there were no vegetables, and the cheese and yoghurt weren't good. I found Sanremo itself very disappointing. The streets and seafront promenade were dirty, smelly, and overcrowded, and the sea was green and polluted. Swimming caused allergies on my skin. The air felt extremely polluted too, with so many bikes and cars, and the city was stressful. Restaurant food was average and not tasty, and in some places it was impossible to eat at all. I don't recommend visiting Sanremo. For me it was a waste of money and a ruined vacation at a crazy high price.
