Miramare the Palace Hotel

Friendly staff, lovely artwork in the lobby, and an enjoyable breakfast were the bright spots of our stay at Hotel Miramar in Sanremo. Still, I'd give it two stars overall. For a five-star hotel, too many things fell short, and the price didn't feel justified. Our junior suite was right by the elevator, where noise through the thin walls was an issue. It made little sense to put the nicer suites there. The extra living area felt like wasted space, since we never used it, and the balcony was so small it really suited just one person. The bathroom was small and minimal, and the pool furniture looked cheap. Even the anti-theft hangers reminded me of Motel 6, not what I'd expect at this level. Given the room's flaws and design, I didn't feel the rate was worth it. There are better choices in Sanremo, like Royal Hotel and Europa.

We paid a lot for 3 nights, and the extra costs made the stay feel even less worthwhile. A beer was €15 and breakfast cost €40 per person, which I can't justify. The hotel is also about a 20 minute walk from the town centre, and the surrounding area isn't amazing. The town centre itself isn't the best either. Staff hospitality was good, breakfast was really nice, and the pool and outdoor area were great. But the rooms disappointed us, with very dated-looking hallways and rooms. At those prices, I wouldn't recommend it. Without the costs, I probably would.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, and when we had a problem with our room, the team sorted it out right away. Very nice hotel. Thanks to everyone at the Miramare Palace hotel, especially Vanessa at reception. We'll definitely come back.

The breakfast was great. Everything else left us completely disappointed. We paid 700 euros for 1 night, but this room felt worth about 200 euros at most, not even half of what we paid for a bed. We had to wait almost 2 hours at check-in because there was a wedding. We couldn't have a peaceful lunch, and when we finally got to our room, the wedding was still going on and it was noisy by the pool too. The hotel did nothing to make things right for guests who weren't part of the wedding, not even a small apology like a cocktail or ice cream. Check-in was after 3pm. at noon, while checkout was by 11am. I've never seen anything like that anywhere. There were three of us, me, my husbandand our daughter, so I slept on the bed prepared for the child. It was just a sheet on a very hard sofa, definitely not a proper bed. It was right by the door, and an annoying sound came from somewhere through the room all night. I couldn't sleep at all. At lunch my child and I ordered 3 things, and the waitress forgot 2 of them. She had us sign the same bill twice, and she didn't speak English. For such a big hotel, that's unacceptable. SOOOOOO... I couldn't rest, I stayed hungry, and I didn't sleep all night. For 700 euros, that's what we got. NEVER AGAIN!! 😡😡🤬
