Villa Sylva & Spa

We found the staff exceptional, a full 5/5, and breakfast had a good variety with a welcoming team and a great atmosphere. Parking was available and convenient. The hotel itself gets 2/5 from me. Its location is exceptional, in the middle of an authentic Italian town and close to the sea, and the building is a well renovated Italian 1900 Villa with plenty of charm. But our rooms were small, damp and not very clean, while the bathrooms were outdated, not clean, and had very few accessories. We stayed for one night in May 2024, during our road trip in southern france. With some modifications, I'd recommend the place.

The rooms were comfortable, and parking was convenient. Upgrade for a large balcony. Breakfast was standard.

The night shift receptionist didn't help us order food from town, and it was already 23:00. The lobby, hallway, elevator and room had no working air conditioning, so it was hard to breathe. It was 30 degrees outside during the night and even hotter in the hotel. The room AC didn't work properly when I turned it on. Cleaning wasn't okay, and the towels were old. At breakfast, the waiter was rude and didn't speak English. He wouldn't bring coffee out to me on the terrace or explain how to use the coffee maker or where to get water. The scrambled eggs were old, and I couldn't order anything else because of the language barrier. Our cups and glasses sat on the table for half an hour because he didn't come to clear them.

The apartment room was comfortable, and the bathroom was really nice and spacious. I do think the hotel price should include the sauna, though. It costs €20 per person to use it.
