The room itself was spacious and bright, though very basic. But after spending two weeks at Mrs. Paola's B&B for work during the Sanremo Music Festival, I came away exhausted and uncomfortable. I hope I never have to go through that again, and I hope Ms. Paola doesn't just apologize another time without fixing anything. We told the owner about the problems several times. A technician came twice, but nothing was resolved. My colleague and I had heard from coworkers who stayed during the Festival the previous year that they had issues too, including the cold, and we ran into the same thing. The heating was the biggest problem. One motor served the air conditioners in three separate rooms, so guests had to live with one another's temperature settings and schedules. Above 20 degrees it hissed loudly enough to keep my colleague, whose room was beside it, awake. Below 20 degrees it stopped working. I ended up in a freezing room on a very cold night, even with three of the old, small, unhygienic post-war blankets. After 13 hours at the theater, poor sleep and waking up with a cold head felt unacceptable. I tried the electric radiator too, but it wouldn't work, even though I turned the knob the right way, contrary to what the owner suspected. A weekend stay might not have bothered me so much, but two weeks was a long time, and I came home with a really bad cold. There were other issues as well. The bathroom had no window, and its exhaust fan was covered in gray lint that might have been mold. The bidet tap leaked and splashed around when I tried to aim the stream. Shower water swung from cold to hot in a second and scalded me more than once. The boiler was extremely noisy and started up unexpectedly, even when I hadn't turned on the hot water. And the floor was still dirty after the supposed weekly cleaning.

We found the rooms clean, and the location worked perfectly for the work we had to do. The owner was very welcoming.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were so friendly, with useful restaurant suggestions. The only small snags were some noise from the street at night and no bidet in the bathroom. It's on a main road, easy to get to from the train station, and close to both the sea and nightlife. Highly recommended!

We spent one night in the Superior room. It was comfortable and clean, and there was a kettle in the room plus a shared refrigerator. The owner was friendly. It's close to the center and port, with Carrefour 24H just a stone's throw away. I'd happily come back and recommend it.
