They can turn things from the menu into amazing vegan food. Such a delight.

Not a thing was wrong, everything was perfect.

The prices were very fair, and the service was attentive and precise, with that old-fashioned feel. We had a Rosso di Montepulciano by the glass. The mixed antipasti were good, though the liver crostini was a little bland, the only letdown. Green gnocchi with Talamello fossa cheese was excellent, and the meat trio was delicious: suckling pig in porchetta, veal shank, and Chianti-braised beef. The gratinated fennel with black truffle was worth mentioning too. A very good winter weekday lunch. The restaurant keeps its retro character, even in the à la carte service.

The appetizer cart is a must, especially the eggplant and spring onion, which have such distinctive flavors. If truffles are available, go for them as a first course. The main dishes are excellent too: wine-braised beef that melts in your mouth, pork shank, or porchetta, though the porchetta may be a bit fatty. Finish with dessert, maybe the basket of Chantilly cream and strawberries. Prices are reasonable for what you get. During the "fairs" just before Easter, lunch is only €15, which is a real gift. For me, this is easily the best restaurant in Sansepolcro.
