The design is pretty, but the stay wrecked my trip. We waited 40 minutes outside after arriving because our train was 12 minutes late and the guy had gone elsewhere, leaving us there. That’s unacceptable when guests are expected. The supposed apartment with a living area and kitchen turned out to be a bedroom on a street where loud motorbikes went by all night. I couldn’t cook the food I’d brought, so I had to spend a fortune on pizza and pasta. There was no suitable healthy breakfast for my specific diet due to a health concern. I couldn’t sleep and got ill from not being able to recover. After we complained, they brought a microwave, plates, and a stove, but no pan, so it wasn’t much use. Washing fruit and a plate in the bathroom wasn’t great either. They could spend less effort on 16 kinds of light and disco colors in a shower that takes a degree to operate, and provide a bathroom light and a glass door that doesn’t illuminate the whole bedroom at night. The luxury rooms also only had enough toilet paper for a day or two, so we had to buy more at the supermarket. You can do that, but it doesn’t feel hospitable or very luxurious. That’s my feedback as a badly rested, badly fed guest who couldn’t enjoy the trip.

The apartment was exceptionally clean and had all the basics: pots, pans, dishes, a fridge, clean working shower and toilet, plenty of hangers, and linens. The owner was friendly and accommodating. Just be aware there are 20 stairs and no elevator. Mosquitoes were the main problem for us. We got bitten several times, and the bites were painful enough to affect our comfort. The property is in Sant’Agnello, not Sorrento, so location matters. It’s about a six-minute walk to the bus stop, with buses every 45 minutes costing €2. Taxis for short trips seemed overpriced, around €25. Having a bicycle, scooter, or car would suit this spot better; getting around on foot can be a long and inconvenient walk. A good clean option if you have your own transport, but keep the mosquitoes and walkability in mind.

It feels like coming home, so I’ll definitely return to Sorrento and the Iommella. I’ve stayed here three times and loved it each visit. The elegant furnishings, careful details, handy location, and lovely hydromassage sensory shower make this a little haven in one of Campania’s prettiest areas. I’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxing stay.

The room itself was clean and pleasant, but the building entrance was run-down and the towels were completely worn out. Breakfast was listed as included, yet all we found were very industrial croissants, jam, and coffee pods. For the €160 we paid, I would have appreciated more care for guests. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The owner was friendly and very helpful, and made us feel at home. They can also connect you with a travel agency for reasonably priced trips arranged as complete packages. We were right in the town center, just steps from a pastry shop, supermarket, bakery, and pharmacy, so it was easy to pick up breakfast or a fresh sandwich for an outing. Our holiday was special thanks to the carefully restored rooms in this old building. Each room has its own character and is well equipped, with a modern shower, iron and ironing board, mini-fridge, pod coffee machine, snacks for a quick breakfast, and a large wall-mounted TV. The paintings, carpeted bed area, curtains, and flooring give it a classic Sorrento feel. I recommend it for a relaxing break between the sea and the monuments.
