Hotel San Matteo

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and for a three-star place it looked nice without trying to be fancy. From my window I faced the main road, but the town was pleasant to look at, and I could still see the mountains. I could even hear the restaurant's basic radio music below, lol. Charging was the biggest hassle. I found just one socket for a standard European plug, in the bathroom; the bedroom sockets were a different type, so bring an adapter. Service was lovely, and we managed to communicate even though I don't speak Italian and the staff didn't speak English. Parking in their garage cost 50 cents. Some furniture, especially the wardrobe, felt old and like its doors might come apart. The bathroom was worn too, though everything worked. The bed was comfy, the place was cheap, and I'd stay again when passing through Italy.

It did the job for a night or two. Nothing especially modern, but it worked just fine.

The evening meals were really tasty, and we got a warm welcome. Breakfast was a bit repetitive and could have been more filling. The rooms are basic and dated, but warm and clean. A good fit for families.

A gentler feel, and the hot water stayed steady. The basic conversation was enough.
