Appartamenti Pomelia Punta Secca

The house is in a wonderful spot, just steps from the beautiful sea and fine sandy beach. It comes with mats, chairs, umbrellas, and even beach toys for kids. The large terrace is stunning, and the kitchen is lovely and distinctly Sicilian. Upstairs, the bedrooms are cozy and the bed linens and towels were clean. The upstairs bathroom could use better sliding shower doors and a replacement for the plastic toiletries compartment. The refrigerator had basic supplies and breakfast items, which was much appreciated. The apartment was otherwise fully equipped and very clean, apart from sand left in the washing machine by previous guests. The agency manager welcomed us warmly, explained everything, and answered our needs. My one suggestion is to get a better mobile payment setup with a POS terminal. We couldn’t get connected, and we don’t usually carry much cash. Pomelia is right behind Montalbano’s famous house, in the charming little square of Punta Secca. We arrived in early October and had trouble finding open shops because it was out of season, though I’m used to the northern climate. We had to drive about 6 km to Santa Croce Camerina, where we could shop at Conad and buy bread to freeze, since there was no way to get it in town. It helps to plan ahead, though the pizzeria downstairs also offers takeout. I recommend the apartment and would happily return, especially for its wonderful location.

The apartment itself is fine, but the value for money doesn’t measure up.
