A lovely, quiet spot, about a 10-minute walk through the old town to the famous amphitheatre where the Spartacus rebellion began. I didn't look into public transport. For anyone arriving by car, there's free private parking in a courtyard. The room felt grand, with a beautiful fresco and big windows. Breakfast was disappointing by Italian standards, but otherwise it was five stars all round. I'd come back.

The owners are lovely people, and the place felt welcoming and genuinely peaceful. My girlfriend and I spent one night there and had a great stay. It would work well for families too.
