Porto Pozzo is quiet and not very busy. Its beach isn’t especially nice by Sardinian standards, so having a car is a good idea, though there’s a pharmacy, bakery, and small shops within walking distance. Our apartment had just been renovated and was simply but practically furnished. They were very accommodating about our arrival and departure times. The complex is nice and peaceful, with several different owners, and for a few days we had the pool entirely to ourselves.

The apartment is easy to reach, has quick access, and is fully fenced. It looks like the outside could use some tidying and updating, but inside the rooms are fine and clean. The bathroom seems fairly new, and the apartment has a washing machine, hairdryer, iron, fridge, stove, dishes, plates, cutlery, and dishwasher. Some of the cutlery is worn. The bed was comfortable, the linens clean, and the pillows decent. The main room’s old furniture is the one real drawback. It’s long past its best and doesn’t smell very good.

I booked an apartment for 14 days in July 2022, but the landlord cancelled in April without giving a reason. When I asked, they said it had been overbooked. That explanation seems very strange when the same accommodation was then listed on another platform for the same dates, at €1,000 more. Simply outrageous. Stay away from them!

A good base for exploring the region, in a quiet, family-friendly residential area. Porto Pozo is small, but has a supermarket and several restaurants and bars. The pool is huge and wasn’t overcrowded even in August. The staff were very good and friendly. The key has to be collected in Santa Teresa di Gallura. Check-in was very late, and we had to wait even longer because the place wasn’t clean. It was generally clean once we got in, though the cutlery could be much better. There’s no air conditioning or fan, the TV didn’t work, and a few basics like a mop and dish soap were missing.
