The rooms were terrible, with buildup in both the room and bathroom. Breakfast was good, but it was at a nearby café and barely amounted to a cappuccino and croissant. There’s much better out there.

For me, cleanliness was a serious problem. When we arrived, the bed was dirty, and that was where we slept the first night. Stains were still visible on the sheets, and there was a strong, musty smell throughout the room. The sheets were clearly left dirty by the previous guests, and the mattress cover seemed never to have been washed. That was what caused the smell. When I asked, the landlord replaced everything, and the second night was better. But the bad experience stuck with me. We didn’t get an apology or any compensation. The rest was okay, but there was no way to dry clothes or towels. You had to climb out through the window to get to the balcony. The green shutters on the bedroom windows can’t be opened, only the panels turn. There was a small fridge, safe, TV, parasol, and hairdryer, but no way to make coffee, iron, or dry laundry. So I don’t think it should be called a B&B. Also, watch the tourist tax they charge, it’s many times higher than what others charge.

The location is convenient, and everything is new and clean apart from a couple of things. The mattress is very comfortable, no complaints there, but the bed creaked as soon as you sat on it, like an old schooner. Every time we turned over during the night, it made that same sound. We spent the whole night listening to the bed concert! Then in the morning, after hardly sleeping, we were woken by new guests slamming the front door and our room door about 20 times. They may have tried to close them quietly, but the doors are so thin they feel like you could open them with a can opener. There’s no real quiet, unfortunately. Hotel owners, please replace all the doors with thicker ones for everyone’s comfort, and do something about those maddeningly creaky beds too.

Everything was convenient, from the air conditioning and towels that were always clean to the courteous, friendly staff. The rooms were spotless and everything seemed as good as new. It’s easy to get to lots of beaches and places to visit from the hotel. We had a wonderful stay in Santa Teresa di Gallura and will definitely be back.
