From our balcony we could see the garden and vineyard, then the sea beyond, with Mount Etna behind the Villa. The pool wasn’t available while we were there because of circumstances, but we didn’t miss it with the sea nearby. Pippo and his wife were lovely and clearly proud of their little paradise. Pippo also made breakfast himself, with nearly everything home grown and homemade, and it was absolutely delicious.

Mornings start quietly here, and Pippo leaves breakfast ready without waking anyone. There’s plenty of it, enough to carry you through a lazy morning and afternoon. From the Villa Dagala terrace, the ocean sparkles below, and sometimes a friendly cat wanders over. You can spend hours reading in a hammock under the big oak trees, with the cool breeze coming down Etna’s slopes. Even summer nights are long, quiet, and cool.

We had such a nice stay at this villa. Pippo and his wife were warm and attentive, and the breakfasts were tasty. Lovely views too, and Etna is close by.
